Meet My World NYC
On the 30th of November we were delighted to welcome over 100 guests at Pealfisher in NYC. This was an opportunity for us to share the films and young people's stories with a completely new audience. The intimacy of the event made it very special and it was great to see so many Peruvians in the audience! This was the second edition following the success of Meet My World NYC in 2015.
The evening was filled with Peruvian food, delicious Pisco (thanks to Macchu Pisco) and talks from ourselves at Amantani. We were also joined by guest speaker Sonia Balcazar from the charity El Conocimiento Se Comparte, who provided a fascinating insight into their inspiring work in rural areas of Peru. We hope to team up with them again in the near future.
Despite the films being about 'How to have fun without technology', the guests were asked to use their mobile phones throughout the evening. In doing so they raised funds by sending online messages to the screen. We felt incredibly lucky to receive such generous support from the audience. All funds raised will be supporting our educational projects and we look forward to updating you all on progress.
Thank you to everyone who came to learn from the young people!
