Viva La Papa! Support Amantani

When Viva La Papa! and Amantani met for the first time, it was clear that there was potential synergy. The striking photos, the colourful designs and most importantly, our respective work with potato farmers and their families in Peru.

Viva La Papa! was set-up by Alec Cousins who was keen to help Peru make the most of perhaps their most famous product – the potato. Viva La Papa! produces delicious potato chips, cooked in small batches by hand using potatoes and flavours from the birthplace of the potato. The entire operation is based in Peru. A competition among young chefs in Lima yielded three wining flavours including “Sal de Maras” ( Andean Pink Salt ), “Anticucho BBQ” and “Mixed Chillies and Lime”.

Alec and his cohort Robert were moved by our work in potato growing regions in the Andes of Peru. In addition to an "aid through trade" approach they had always wanted to offer something back to highland farming communities and through Amantani they found just such an organisation!
