Stoneygate School Set-Off on an Epic Fundraising Journey
Today, the pupils of Stoneygate were joined by an adventurous ex-pupil to help them kick-off their fundraising for Amantani.
Former Stoneygate schoolboy Ed Stafford is the only man in the world to have trekked the entire length of the Amazon river. He came into the school today to inspire the pupils with his story as they took on their own challenge of running around the perimeter of Peru - some 6,123 miles!

Parents joined in as the whole school came together to complete the first of their many miles which they will run over the course of the winter term in a bid to raise funds for Amantani. By the end of the day they had reached 216 miles - only another 5,921 to go!

We were also presented with cheques from generous teachers and pupils who had organised fundraising events in their own time.
William (picture below) got people from his community together to play in a cricket match and managed to raise £401.25!

Teachers Fran Jelly and Sue Raven organised a fashion show in association with David Lloyd Leisure Centres and various high streets stores raising £430.
In the evening, the fundraising continued as were joined by the members of the RoundTable 41 at The Cow and Plough in Oadby. A sit down dinner and a gripping talk from Ed Stafford made for a memorable evening and more vital funds being raised.
Thanks so much to David Palmer, everyone at Stoneygate School and the RoundTable 41 for an unbelievable day!

7th October - Today we found out that the children from Stoneygate have been up to their old tricks! This time a large group of them (pictured above) got together to take on the Kibworth Run and raise £163.15 for Amantni in the process. FANTASTIC WORK!
