Helen Draper's 'Three Peaks Challenge' - 28th May 2010

Helen Draper has exceeded her own expectations, both in her hiking capabilities and her fundraising.  She set a target to raise £200 for Amantani UK but by the time she had reached the foot of Ben Nevis to begin her Three Peaks attempt she had already raised over £1,500! She then surprised herself by successfully completing the challenge in 22 hours and 48 minutes!

Here is what she said about the hike, 'I must admit at a couple of tough moments psychologically, I just thought of las niñas y los niños and kept walking!!!'

Then one Monday evening, we got home from work to find an extraordinary email from Helen's father Brian Olof. It was to say that he was so touched by what he had read in our Annual Report that he wanted to increase Helen's contribution to £10,000!! This is an incredible story of generosity and we are forever grateful to Helen and her parents for their contribution which will make a fundamental difference to what we can achieve in Peru.
