An After-School Club - 20th April 2010

Today we met with the teachers of the district’s primary school to discuss ways in which we can collaborate with them in order to help the school’s children. The teachers were very happy with our work and were keen for it be expanded upon in order to help more children. They proposed a project which they had previously discussed with the parents and would like to see realized. All they needed was the financial backing to make it happen and support in designing the syllabus and strategies. The idea is to provide an after-school service for the children living in the capital of Ccorca and in Huayllay, which is the nearest community. Initially, the teachers would stay in the afternoon in order to help the children with their homework as well as giving them extra-teaching using a learning-by-doing methodology.
